hello-there-e1502696898600.jpgWelcome back to my blog

I don’t know what it is about mascara packaging but they always claim extraordinary things. The before and after pictures make it look like your eyelashes will go from:

Recently, I’ve seen reviews for the L’OREAL Voluminous Lash Paradise around YouTube and the interwebs. After seeing their results, I knew I had to try it out myself. But the struggle was real! This mascara was sold out at every Target/ulta near me but I finally found it at a random Target in Henderson, NV.

FINALLY.

They only had the waterproof version so today, I will be reviewing the L’OREAL Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara! You can get it for about $8.99 to $9.99 depending where you purchase it. I got mine for $8.99 at Target!

Look at this pretty pink packaging! Love it!

The waterproof version comes in two shades:

  • Black
  • Blackest black

L’oreal describes this mascara as voluptuous volume, intense length, full lash fringe, and feathery soft.  There are 200+ bristles to catch every lash for a dramatic volumizing effect. There is also no flaking, no smudging, and no clumping.

A LITTLE BIO ABOUT MY LASHES

I have pretty stubborn lashes that don’t want to keep curled. They’ll curl and then a few hours later, back to no curl. They’re also very short so without mascara, you can’t even tell I have eyelashes!

HOW I USE IT

I curl my eyelashes using my Muji eyelash curler. Then I apply one coat of mascara onto my lashes! I start from the base of my eyelashes and work my way up in a zigzag motion. (I hope that makes sense). I add a few more coats until I am satisfied about how my eyelashes look.

FIRST IMPRESSION

I am using the color blackest black. This is a wet formula. But for me, the wet formula makes it so much easier to apply to my lashes. It dries fairly quick – quicker than most of my mascaras. When I blinked, the mascara didn’t transfer onto my undereyes.

YIKES! Welcome to my face! Here’s a close up of how the mascara looks on my eyelashes.

Smell: yes–floraly smell. I’m not a very big fan of the smell. I don’t understand why they put scents on things that go on your eye.

Length (✓): DAMN. SON. There was definitely a change in length.

Volume (✓): I loved the volume it gave my lashes!

Feathery Soft (✓): It is very lightweight and stays on all day.

No flaking (✓)

No smudging (✓): I yawn a lot throughout the day and my eyes get watery. Mascaras usually start smudging and then I get these dark smudges under my eyes. This mascara didn’t do that! I yawned all I wanted and nothing. YAY.

No clumping (✓): It did not clump like some of my other mascaras. Easy application and no mess!

After long hours of wearing this mascara, my eyelashes were still curled and in place. Removal is kind of a pain but it is waterproof. Just use some eye makeup remover and you should be fine!

This is definitely a drugstore mascara worth trying. Have you gotten your hands on this mascara? Let me know what you think!
