NEW FAVORITE LIGHTWEIGHT SUMMER FOUNDATION // LETIFFANYSHOW

IMG_8632

I’m not going to lie, I suck at matching foundation colors to my skin. And when I was at Sephora staring at these bottles of foundations, they all looked the same to me. Light sand? Medium sand? …Help…?

HELLO FRIENDS

Welcome back to my blog!

Today I’m doing a review of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation! This foundation retails for $39 and it claims to be a lightweight, full coverage, hydrating foundation with a SPF 15. It comes in 21 shades- I am in the shade  light-medium sand. (You know, I always wondered how they came up with these foundation names.. )Thinking Face on Apple iOS 10.3The Sephora website also says that this product is hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. Lastly, the bottle is made of glass and contains 1 fl. oz of product.

Let’s start off with the box it comes in. I LOVE PRETTY PACKAGING like if you put a shitty product in pretty packaging, I might actually buy it. The applicator itself is a dropper. I’m not crazy about the dropper because I’m not sure what to do with it. The website says to directly dispense the foundation onto a foundation brush, but I prefer to drop it onto the back of my hand first and then dab it onto my skin. I tend to waste product when I directly put it on a brush or sponge.

This foundation has a floraly sunscreen kind of smell but it’s not terrible. It’s not noticeable after it’s been applied to the skin. With a primer (the primer I used was the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer), it went on my face super smoothly and stayed on throughout the day.

This foundation has a runny, watery consistency cause ya know, “water foundation”. It applies well on my skin with either my Real Techniques foundation brush or my Clarisonic foundation brush. I prefer applying it with the Clarisonic foundation brush. That brush just blends everything.

I tried making a video showing you how I like to apply the foundation! LOL my first “beauty” video ever! Check it out!

I found that a lot goes a long way, so I like to start with a drop of foundation and build up from there. When I first started using this foundation, I think I used wayyy too much and it started to look cakey. I learned that one drop from the dropper is enough and then I could always add more to where there are imperfections. I don’t find it full coverage but I think it’s buildable.  I enjoyed how lightweight it is because I’m all about that “no makeup makeup look”. This foundation would be ideal for those hotter summer days 🌞and maybe even humid weather.

I’ve been loving this product and it has been my go-to for these warmer days. The dropper is eh but it makes me feel like I’m in a lab or something. HEHE but that is pretty much it!

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think of it? Let me know what you think! Make sure to like, comment, ask questions… er look around my blog if you’d like..laugh at my posts heheh OKAY SEE YOU NEXT TIME ❤

Shine bright, peace out.✌

Clarisonic Mia 2 Review

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

HELLOOO Friends!

Ever since I started watching YouTube beauty gurus however long ago, I’ve seen many of them use the Clarisonic Mia 1 and 2. These beauty gurus pretty much did a great job convincing me that I needed one. I mean come on, the box itself says it cleanses 6x better than hands alone. UH YES I NEED THAT. But, that hefty price tag of $169 was what kept me away from purchasing one.

Around Mother’s Day time, the Clarisonic website had a promotion where if you bought their new foundation brush attachment, you’d get $40 off any brush of your choice. I did some calculating and even with the $35 foundation brush attachment, it was still cheaper than the Clarisonic alone. After some long thinking, I finally did it. I put in my credit card information, pressed submit order, and a week later… BAAM it was at my front door. (it was like Christmas day!! thanks mailman!)

The Mia 2 retails for $169.00. It is said to be have 2 speed facial sonic cleansing (delicate and universal). It comes with a sensitive brush head, trial size cleanser, travel case, and a 2 year warranty. It has a 1 minute pulsing T-Timer but to be honest, sometimes even after the 1 minute timer, I turn it back on cause my face don’t feel clean yet!

I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now and this is what I thought about the Clarisonic Mia 2:

Pros:  My face does feels a lot cleaner than it used to be. To be honest, I thought the QVC and beauty guru people were exaggerating to make me want to buy it (and yes it worked..unfortunately..haha!) but my face does feel a lot softer! I did see the pores on my face shrink a little bit but not completely. When I apply makeup such as foundation, it seemed to go on a lot smoother. Even without makeup, my face looks a lot clearer and smoother…like a baby’s butt!

Cons: Like an electric tooth brush, you have to replace the brush head every 3 months. Now, these clarisonic brush heads are not cheap. They retail for about $27 each and $44 for pack of two. I read a lot of reviews where people love their Clarisonic but some have stopped using it because they didn’t want to buy the expensive brush head (totally understandable). Heh good thing I have a bunch of Ulta reward points saved up but its still an investment to think about.

Conclusion: I’ve only been using speed 1, which is “delicate” because someone recommended that as a new user, you should start with the lower speed. Maybe as I start using the “universal” speed, my skin will improve even more. Hmm..but, we’ll see. I’ll keep ya’ll updated. 🙂 Although it made my skin feel smoother, I don’t know if my skin feels 6x cleaner like it claims on the box…maybe 1x? 2x? I don’t think it’s necessary to have this device to achieve nice, clean skin. Pero like, I like it. I’m glad I finally made this purchase! YAY SKINCARE!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Make sure to like, comment, ask questions… er look around my blog if you’d like..laugh at my old posts like I do.. heheh OKAY BYE!

Shine bright, peace out.✌

Whats in my travel makeup bag?

IMG_7057

Hello friends 🙂

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I got really busy with school work and kept putting it off but here i am! …a year-ish later…

I am on winter break at the moment and most of my makeup is back at school. So today, I thought I would show you what is in my travel make up bag.

Lets dig right in! *Wheeeeee*

Starting with mah face, I have my moisturizer, primer, foundation, under eye concealer, powder, bronzer and blush. The moisturizer I use is the Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 15. I love this moisturizer because it has that SPF I need to protect me from le sun. Next, my primer, foundation (in the shade Medium Beige) and under eye concealer (in Neutralizer) are from Maybelline. The bronzer and powder are both from Rimmel London and they work really well for my skin. The powder gives me a matte finish and the bronzer gives me that subtle glow I like. Finally, my blush/highlighter is from Physicians Formula. I don’t always use this but when I want that extra sparkle, I slap it on using my powder brush and BAM. Sparklezzzz 😀

I am very simple when it comes to eyes. All I really use is mascara, brow gel and sometimes eyeliner. (It’s because I tend to rub my eyes and end up with Panda eyes…ewwww…) My two favorite mascaras at the moment are the L’oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara (in blackest black) and the Lash Stiletto from Maybelline (in VERY black). My go to liquid eyeliner is from MAC and was a gift from my best friend. ❤ It’s called the Rapidblack Penultimate Eye Liner…what a fancy name! This eyeliner is alright… it kind of dried out quickly and the line isn’t as dark anymore. Finally, the eyebrow gel is the Brow drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in deep brown. It’s the only thing I need to keep my eyebrows in place and on fleek. Well, I like to think my brows are on fleek. Lolz they’re probably not. Okay moving on.

Finally, these are the tools I bring with me. My favorite thing to use to slap my foundation on is that orange sponge you see over there. It’s the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion SpongeGirl, let me tell you.. This sponge is …a MIRACLE! Put away that foundation brush and try this orange sponge because it gives you a nice dewey look and trust. me. you will never look back! Did I mention it’s very affordable @ $6.99!? Ulta always has sales and right now they are buy 1 get 1 FREEEEEE! Ok moving on to my face brushes. From left to right, Eco Tools Bamboo Powder Brush, Real Techniques Powder brush and Eco Tools Bamboo Bronzer BrushThese brushes get the job done. The brushes are really really soft (especially the Real Technique brushes) and I highly recommend them and you are in the market for affordable makeup brushes. Again, these brushes are  buy 1 get 1 FREEEEEE at Ulta! 🙂

And that is what’s in my travel make up bag. Let me know what your travel essentials are!!  If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment!

Hope you have a beautiful and wonderful week!
