Welcome back to my blog!
Today, I’m going to try a DIY egg white mask. When I first heard about this mask, I thought I was being trolled. Like egg whites on your face? Gross. But as crazy as it sounds, there seem to be some awesome benefits. So of course I had to try it out! If you want to know how this mask works, just keep on reading!
BEFORE YOU TRY THIS DIY: If you have sensitive skin, think before you try this DIY. If you’re allergic to eggs, stay away from this DIY. If you’re a vegan or don’t like eggs, uh its up to you! I am not a skin care professional. Just a blogger who loves to try new things! 🙂
You will need:
» 1 egg
👆 Yep, you read that right, all you need is one egg!
All you have to do is crack that egg open and separate the yolk and egg white. (add another egg to that yolk and you can have an omelette. yum!) Then use a fork to froth up the egg whites. It takes a little bit of work but oof that was a workout! 💪 Finally, use your fingers and apply a layer to your face. Let it dry for about 10-15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
This mask is said to temporarily tighten your skin, giving you a short term face lift (lol). I don’t think my face looked lifted but okay. It is also supposed to give you this beautiful glow. Did I have a glow? Yes! My skin felt so much smoother than before. Gotta have that flawless base before slapping on some makeup, am i right?
My main skin concern were the pores on my face. They were so visible and the mask supposedly shrinks your pores. I did notice my pores shrink a little so I think it will definitely help once I get onto a routine.
So did it work?
YES! It did work but in my opinion, you’ll have to do it regularly to really get the affects. My skin felt softer and tighter plus my pore kind of shrunk.
Would I do it again?
Honestly, probably not often. It didn’t smell very good and you are putting egg whites on your face. There’s also a concern with bacteria and such.
But if you’re curious, definitely give this mask a try! The ingredients are so simple. You can also add a few teaspoons of lemon juice into the egg mask if you want some cleansing effect.
